Bruges Bricks
Bruges bricks used to be used mainly for old door porches, fireplaces and for masonry indoor staircases. These bricks are unique because of their small size, they are fired hard and are twice smothered, which delivers the unique colour nuance of blue, grey and black.
There is a well-known house in Bruges, on the corner of the Steenstraat and the Market which is entirely built with this brick. Due to the exceptionally small size of the units, the construction would have been a huge accomplishment and the house remains much loved by connoisseurs
